Greystone Mansion - Industrial Gardens
MDS Exhibits constructed multiple water-wise and fire-wise “floating gardens” for the historic Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, California. Four-legged planters were built using powder-coated, heavy-wall aluminum tubing and perforated sheeting, and were constructed in a variety of shapes and sizes in order to create a natural flow with the mansion’s topography.
For a faux-water effect, “glass water” stones were employed below the structures.Rosemary, a moist, drought-resistant Mediterranean spice plant, was chosen for the gardens, and will eventually grow to hang over the planters. All planters were engineered to maximize water drainage and load capacity.
