OBJECTIVES: For the press reveal of its Grand Vitara, American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) required an impressive theatrical presentation that would fully communicate the innovative design of its award-winning vehicle.
SOLUTIONS: To frame the sixty-five by twenty foot press area, a proscenium arch was constructed using an aluminum sub-structure with acrylic top surfaces and covered in a faux-marble finish. For the car’s unveiling, the Grand Vitara was placed on top of a Turntable Works - Standard Automobile Turntable, underneath a specially lit white fabric covering. Theatrical lighting and other special effects were also used.
RESULTS: ASMC was pleased with excitement buzz generated during the vehicle’s debut, and continued to use this press event kit for the following three years.
