Toyota Motor Sales - Truck Bed Conversions


OBJECTIVES: Objective: Toyota Motor Sales USA needed to draw attention to its all new a 2007 Tundra pick-up truck at supercross events amidst a number of significant distractions, including excessive signage and the races themselves.

SOLUTIONS: An 8’ x 10’ LED Wall was placed in a Tundra truck bed to be used as a combination scoreboard and promotional message wall for the race. A complex, custom-made LED wall rotator was built to spin the screen 360 degrees so that all attendees had an opportunity to see the scoreboard – as well as the Tundra.

To operate the LED Wall/Rotator, 100 amps of electricity and four computer-controlled RGB composite video signals were supplied through a nine-pin controller wire to the hub with four power circuits and sixteen signal circuits. On the side of the exhibit, truss, and Tundra graphics drew audience attention to the vehicle and promotional video.

RESULTS:The display is currently on tour at a number of races throughout the United States, and is regarded by the company as a highly successful promotion for the all-new Tundra.
